Marked Shirazi is a nomadic rug: a cool, rustic type just waiting to pimp up any room. Carpets like this one are made by nomads directly from memory, freestyle and without a pattern. The rug was made in the Shiraz region of ancient Persia. The figurative pattern is so rare, the rug might as well be treated like a painting and hung on the wall. With over 100 years of age, this rug is considered an exclusive antique collector's item. It is the epitome of boss-like stability: honest sheep's wool is undoubtedly the most important material for a hand-knotted rug. After shearing, the wool is divided into different grades, cleaned, washed and further processed by hand. Hand knotting is a craftsmanship inherited over many generations. Such a rug is knotted labor-intensively knot by knot - the production is therefore extremely time-consuming. As the quality and workmanship can be influenced during the entire creation process, there are practically no manufacturing errors. In this case, this antique rug has some minor issues but we love to keep the charm. Please, don't forget this rug is over 100 years old!
